One of my favorite books, I recommend you add it to your required
reading list. Franz Mairinger, a former instructor at the Spanish Riding
School in Vienna finished his career in Australia where he prepared
teams for six Olympic Games. This book is full of philosophical insights
and practical information. It will give you a better understanding of
your partner, the horse. The book was assembled after Mairinger's death
by his devoted students and is compiled from notes and tapes of
lectures. Rather than try to edit their mentor's words, the book is
presented as transcribed and so it reads like a pleasant conversation.
Chapter summaries by his students help to clarify points. A worthwhile
read.
