Habitat for Horses

Another bright idea from Tack In The Box

It certainly is true that necessity is the mother of invention. Our Deluxe Pasture Shelter was born of a need to house our burgeoning horse herd – especially those residing on property we rented from a neighbor. We were pretty pleased with ourselves, then the short days of winter came and suddenly we found ourselves feeding horses by braille. they say that those who lose the sense of sight enjoy a dramatice improvement in other senses and I believe it’s true because, in total darkness, I can hear and identify the broodmare that’s sucking her hindleg out of the mud with intent to kick the yearling filly using me as a shield. It didn’t take much of this before I developed an intense interest in solar lighting. Easy to install, our Bright Ideas Solar Light Kit includes a 6" x 11" solar panel that charges a 6 volt NiCad battery pack (included) which then powers two directionally adjustable incandescent lights - providing up to 90 minutes of lighting for performing barn duties. The on/off switch is guarded to protect against the all-curious and prehensile equine nose. Sufficient cord is supplied to allow the solar panel to be located up to 18’ from the lighting unit and the switch can be installed 10’ away from the lights. Complete with mounting hardware and instructions – all you supply are the tools! Note: this kit is not intended for unprotected outdoor installation. Switch & light components must be installed out of the weather.
