Developed for our own use, our Foalsafe Turnout Halter features a velcro™ closure at the crown that will give way if Jr. gets his halter caught on a fence post or tree, yet there are no "fuses" to replace or screws to come unfastened. Simply reattach the Velcro™ tab and your halter is as good as new. The unique design criss-crosses under the jaw, allowing a snug fit that won’t rub a sore on his cheekbones yet makes it much less likely that your foal will snag the halter on something in the first place. Buckles at the crown and over the nose allow you to adjust this halter as your foal grows. Not suitable as a leading halter, since it’s designed to "break" if he pulls back hard. As soon as you’ve caught your foal, exchange the Foalsafe Halter for an ordinary halter for leading and other lessons. Not only is it important to conduct these lessons with a halter that won’t give way, you’ll also be training your youngster to calmly accept being haltered.
