Veterinary Exam Stocks
When a 1200lb horse loses it in the examination stocks it's never a
pretty sight. I cringe whenever I see horses put into stocks with double
barred rails and lots of upright supports for them to get legs between
and over. So when it was time to install stocks on
our own farm I
looked long and hard for a set that would minimize these hazards and
here are the stocks we chose. With uprights only in the front arch and a
single bar rail, there's just not much for a horse to get hung up on.
The 4" steel pipe construction will take all the abuse a frantic equine
can dish out without any sharp or rough edges to add injury to insult.
Virtually every part of the horse is easily accessible for any kind of
veterinary examination or procedure or even for grooming or bathing. The
height of the arm is easily adjusted by lowering or raising the hub and
the breast bar can be positioned more forward or rearward to accommodate
the horse's length. |
